Company History
FIST Company was founded in 1989 by Janko Lubej and Valentin Sršen, who quickly saw the potential in the market for quality and affordable plastics. By 1992, the company pivoted exclusively to distributing these materials.
Starting modestly, operations began in rented office space and a warehouse in Dob near Domžale, with Valentin's son, Gregor, joining the company around this time.
In 1993, FIST acquired land in the newly developed industrial zone of Trzin, starting the construction of its own offices and warehouse. The first warehouse, spanning 1,000 square meters, enabled further business growth. Actively expanding its supplier network, the company secured its first distribution contract in 1993 with the esteemed polyolefin manufacturer, Austrian company PCD from Linz (later known as Borealis), and three years later, with General Electric Plastics (later SABIC).
In 2004, FIST expanded its office and warehouse facilities at the same location, adding another 1,000 square meters of storage space. That year also marked the beginning of a partnership with LG Chemical.
2014 saw the establishment of a subsidiary in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the start of operations in Serbia. In 2018, the company purchased more land in the Trzin industrial area for a future warehouse.
Today, FIST is a leading supplier of plastic materials in Slovenia and the former Yugoslavian markets, an essential part of the plastic processing industry ecosystem. Serving over 300 regular customers, we offer a wide range of materials, including functional additives, colorants, cleaners, and auxiliary processing aids. Our inventory consistently exceeds 2,000 tons of various materials, encompassing over 200 different material and color combinations.
